some day you'll know what it's like to swallow your words.
it chokes a person, leaving vowels stuck on the tongue, consonants clogging up vocal cords. smothering souls.

insomnia

night time is no friend of mine. when most people sleep i am up pacing inside the pathways of insomnia. this unfriendly familiarity meets me regularly. as unscheduled as the migraines that threaten blood vessels with eruption, it is something i can count on. counting hours like sheep i wait to wake.
